Anycubic Photon M3 Series

Last Updated: June 21st, 2022

It looks like 2022 is the year for Anycubic. Having just released the Mono 4K and Mono X 6K a few months ago, Anycubic has now released their newest generation of resin printers. The Photon M3 series presents a new small, medium, and Anycubic's first large MSLA printer.

The M3 printers are available for purchase now, and we presume that they will soon become the flagship line as the older monochrome printers are phased out.

We typically recommend the Photon M3 over then Mono 4K when people are on a budget but need a bump in build volume. You can download one of the free slicers to determine what build volume you require.

Photon M3, M3 Plus, and M3 Max

  • All three of the Anycubic printers have a similar XY resolution at 0.034-0.043 mm. For the price, these are good resolutions, and they represent an increase from the prior generation.
  • The printers come with a screen protector for scratches and spills.
  • Anycubic's newer printers come with the laser-engraved build plate that supposedly improves adhesion.
  • The M3, M3 Plus, and M3 Max have a metal vat by default.
  • Anycubic's resin printers have the RERF file which allows you to print eight exposure times in one go, making calibration faster.

Anycubic Photon M3

  • The Photon M3 has the smallest build volume in the series at 163 x 102 x 180 mm, but this is still 74% larger than the build volume of the Photon Mono (130 x 80 x 165 mm).
  • The power consumption of the Photon M3 is rated at 55 W.
