MERV 13 FAQ

The filter is manufactured as a F7 filter under EN 779 - this classification is based on the average efficiency of the filter in capturing 0.4μm particles. MERV 13 is the ASHRAE approximate classification for F7 filters.

MERV 13-16 provides filtration efficiencies near HEPA while not sacrificing the airflow/process rate. This captures the vast majority of particulates and it allows a focus on VOC & gaseous contaminant removal. We will release HEPA filters soon for applications sensitive to particulates.

It is recommended to replace the MERV 13 filter every 3 months. With sporadic printing, the MERV 13 filter may last upwards of 6 months before becoming saturated. Usage in an environment such as a dusty workshop may require more frequent replacement.
