Frequently Asked Questions

The carbon is separated in an effort to provide flexibility on replacing filters, to reduce costs for gas purification applications, and to minimize waste through utilizing the reusable cartridge.

It is recommended to replace the MERV 13 filter every 2-3 months. The activated carbon should be replaced every 2-3 months. For higher-load applications the carbon should be replaced upon the reemergence of odors as the lifetime is highly dependent on filament/print settings.

In large quantities spent carbon is typically reactivated as part of a recycling process, and it can be beneficial for yards (google biochar). However, since your spent carbon will contain toxins it is recommended to dispose of it. We may launch a recycling program in the future.

Volatile Organic Chemicals are gaseous compounds under standard atmosphere that are generally toxic in high concentrations.

We use food-grade coconut shell instead of coal in order to minimize both the ash content and the environmental footprint.

It is recommended to keep humidity below 70% as excessive humidity can decrease the efficiency of activated carbon.
