Mono Mono Mono - this is a quick comparison for the Photon Mono, SQ, and X, highlighting the key differences.
The Photon Mono, Mono X, and Mono SQ are being phased out for newer models.
If you are testing the waters of resin 3D printing for the first time or are on a budget, we recommend to going for a small resin printer.
When you need a larger build volume and have the money then opt for a medium printer. A printer like the Mono SQ is optimal when you are on a budget and the build volume is sufficient.

Saturn vs Mono X
Mono, Mono SQ, and Mono X
- All three of the Anycubic printers essentially have the same XY resolution at 0.05 mm - the Photon Mono has an XY resolution of 0.051 mm.
- Anycubic's resin printers have the RERF file which allows you to print eight exposure times in one go, making calibration faster.
Anycubic Photon Mono
- The Photon Mono has the smallest build volume at 130 x 80 x 165 mm.
- The Photon Mono has a plastic vat and uses a pre-assembled FEP - if you want to use any FEP sheet or have a metal vat, then grab a Sovol vat.
- The light intensity of the Mono X is 2.67 mW/cm2.
- The power consumption of the Photon Mono is rated at 45 W.
Anycubic Photon Mono SQ
- The Photon Mono SQ's build volume is middle of the road at 128 x 120 x 200 mm.
- There is an adjustable UV power level on the printer itself.
- The Mono SQ has a metal vat by default.
- The power consumption of the Photon Mono SQ is rated at 66 W.
Anycubic Photon Mono X
- The Photon Mono X has the largest build volume of the three at 192 x 120 x 245 mm.
- There is an adjustable UV power level on the printer itself.
- The light intensity of the Mono X is 1.78 mW/cm2 at only 50% UV power.
- The Mono X has a metal vat by default.
- The Mono X also has dual linear rails for additional stability.
- The power consumption of the Photon Mono X is rated at 120 W.
